dc.description.abstractEn el vigésimo número de este informe conjunto de la CEPAL y la OIT se analiza un aspecto específico muy relevante para la relación entre las nuevas tecnologías y el trabajo decente. Las plataformas digitales crean nuevas oportunidades laborales tanto a nivel local como en mercados digitales globales. Sin embargo, en muchos casos las nuevas formas de trabajo se desarrollan fuera de las regulaciones existentes, de manera que estos trabajadores no gozan de los derechos laborales y sociales establecidos por la legislación correspondiente. Un elemento clave al respecto es la duda sobre si estas nuevas formas de trabajo representan una nueva modalidad de empleo asalariado, si corresponden a un trabajo independiente o si debería ajustarse el marco normativo, ya que ni las normas que se refieren al empleo asalariado ni las correspondientes al trabajo por cuenta propia reflejan adecuadamente las características de estos trabajos.
