dc.description.abstractEn la presente edición del Anuario estadístico se introducen mejoras respecto del diseño presentado en los últimos cuatro años. En efecto, se ha hecho una nueva selección de los cuadros que se presentaban publicados en papel y cuya consulta es más cómoda en medios digitales. Asimismo, se han unificado, en la medida de lo posible, los criterios utilizados en los capítulos dedicados a temas sociales, económicos y ambientales en cuanto a países, títulos y agrupaciones, entre otros. A pesar de estos cambios, se ha tratado de mantener la continuidad de las principales series estadísticas que la Comisión publica en el Anuario desde 1973. El Anuario cuenta con cuatro capítulos. En el primero se presentan los indicadores demográficos y sociales, que reflejan el esfuerzo especial realizado para incluir la dimensión de género en la información estadística. En el segundo se reúnen las estadísticas económicas básicas, de comercio y balanza de pagos, y las cuentas nacionales. En virtud del creciente interés de la comunidad regional e internacional en el desarrollo sostenible, en el tercer capítulo se recopila la información cuantitativa disponible sobre el medio ambiente.
dc.description.abstractEngThe present edition of the Yearbook has introduced improvements to the design of the four preceding editions; a further selection has been made of the tables that used to be presented in print version, but which, for practical purposes, are more conveniently accessed electronically. In addition, as far as possible, standard criteria have been adopted for countries, headings, groupings and so forth in the main chapters relating to social, economic and environmental issues. Despite these changes, efforts have been made to ensure continuity in the principal statistical series that ECLAC has been publishing in the Yearbook since 1973. The Yearbook comprises four chapters. The first covers demographic and social indicators, reflecting special efforts to mainstream the gender perspective in statistical information. The second chapter presents basic economic, trade and balance-of-payments statistics as well as national accounts. Taking account of the growing concern of the regional and international community for sustainable development, the third chapter provides the quantitative information available on the environment.
