Since the demographic growth was negligible, the gross domestic product (GDP) per inhabitant grew proportionally with the GDP. The global fiscal deficit experienced a slight increase from 3% of GDP in 2006, to 3.1% in 2007, while the price level grew 2.8% half the rate observed the previous year(5.7%). Finally, the current account balance surplus was equivalent to 0,8% of GDP.
