United States trade in goods sustained the recovery that began in 2021. In the first six months of 2022, goods exports increased by 21% compared to the prior-year period, while goods imports rose by 22%. Trade in services has not fully recovered, as major service industries such as travel and transport are still experiencing the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. United States-Latin America and the Caribbean Trade Developments 2022 provides an overview of selected developments in trade relations between the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean. In light of the global focus on the climate crisis and the specific emphasis of President Biden’s trade policy agenda on advancing on a sustainable environment and climate path, this report includes a section on United States trade in circular economy goods.
